1. What is the cost of a taxi from Palma Airport to Carabela? Approximately 60 Euros for a 4 seater, approximately 85 Euros for a 6 seater. There is a supplement of 10 Euros after 9pm and on holidays, including Sundays.
2. How long is the journey from Palma Airport to Port D’Alcudia? Approximately 45 - 50 minutes.
3. How long is the flight to Palma? The flight from Heathrow or Gatwick is approximately 2 hours. It is approximately 30 minutes longer from the north of England or Scotland.
4. When can we have access to the apartment on the day of arrival? Normally you cannot have access to the apartment until after 1pm local time. This is to allow the cleaners to prepare it following the departure of the previous guests.
5. When do we have to vacate the apartment on our last day? To allow time for the cleaners to prepare the apartment for the next guests you must vacate it by midday.
6. How far is the nearest supermarket? The nearest supermarket is The Piccadilly, about 200 metres away in C/ de Estrella de Mar, opposite Carabela. We prefer the old-fashioned Spar shop nearer the port, opposite the taxi rank. Mercadona is a larger supermarket offering far more choice and better value. It is next to the petrol station at the Old Town end of C/ Pollentia, the road from the port area to the old town, the continuation of C/ De Teodor Canet. It has an underground car park.
7. How do we collect the keys to the apartment? If you have asked me to arrange a taxi to meet you at Palma airport the driver will have your keys. If you are making your own way to Carabela I will post the keys to you before your departure.
8. Can we only book Saturday to Saturday? I normally only take bookings Saturday to Saturday because otherwise I can end up with “voids”. This particularly applies to the busiest periods (July, August and school half-terms). During quieter periods I can sometimes help with different changeover days.
9. What is the full address of the apartments? Apartamentos Carabela, Carretera de Arta 7.07410, Port d’Alcudia, Mallorca
10. Is there an Internet Cafe in Port D’Alcudia? There is an internet café in C/ Mariscos. They charge approx €2 for an hour and you can carry credit forward to use again. Turn left up C/ Coral before you reach the taxi rank then right into C/ Mariscos. The Mestizo Cafe in C/ Coral has free wi-fi for paying customers, with a relaxed and friendly ambience.
11. Where is the nearest doctor? There is a Salus 24 Hour Doctor by the Burger Luna snack bar just up from the traffic lights at the Carabela Steak Bar. Freephone in Majorca 900 18 13 40. They are not keen on the EU Form E111. Alcudia Hospital is in Alcudia Old Town on the Carretera Formentor. You must make sure you have full travel insurance.

13. Is Gluten Free and Dairy Free Food Available in Alcudia? On the Restaurants page I have indicated which restaurants I know cater for special diets. There are undoubtedly others. Local supermarkets will have a limited choice of appropriate food. If you want to avoid potential problems by taking some gluten free or dairy free provisions with you I recommend you contact Helen Pengelly at Johnsons Dietary Provisions
14. Is watersports tuition and hire available on Alcudia Beach? Windsurfing and sailing tuition as well as hire of equipment are available from Wind & Friends who are on the beach directly in front of the Sunwing Hotel. Wind & Friends website
